The Raft is a dedicated space for those navigating seasons of loneliness, isolation, or disconnection. Our goal is simple: to ensure no one has to drift alone. To keep this a safe harbor for everyone, we ask all members to honor these principles.
1. Protect the Privacy of the Raft
What is shared on the Raft, stays on Together with Kai. Many of our members are navigating sensitive life situations.
- Do not screenshot or share community conversations outside of the app.
- Respect Anonymity: Use the level of anonymity you are comfortable with, and respect the privacy of others.
2. Radical Empathy, Zero Judgment
We are here because the world outside can feel judgmental.
- Listen First: Sometimes people just need to be heard, not "fixed."
- No "Shaming": Whether someone is single, unhappily married, or just feeling lost, this is a shame-free zone.
- Casual & Kind: Keep the tone helpful and peer-to-peer. We’re all in the same water.

3. Kai is Your Companion, Not a Doctor
While Kai and the community provide powerful emotional support, we are not a substitute for professional mental health care or legal advice.
- Know the Limits: If you are in a crisis or need professional counseling, please reach out to licensed resources.
- Safe AI Use: Use Kai as a mirror for your thoughts and a supportive friend.
4. No "Performative" Posting
The Raft is the one place on the internet where you don't have to "post your best life."
- Be Real: It’s okay to be sad, angry, or confused here.
- No Spam or Self-Promotion: This is a space for connection, not a marketplace or a place to "grow a following."
5. Keep the Water Clear (Safety)
To maintain a secure environment, we have a zero-tolerance policy for:
- Harassment or Bullying: Any form of hate speech or targeted attacks will result in immediate removal.
- Unsolicited DMs: Respect personal boundaries. Do not message members privately unless they have explicitly invited the connection in a public thread.
* A Note on Our Mascot: Just like sea otters hold paws to create a "raft" so they don't drift away in their sleep, we are here to hold space for each other. When the waves get high, lean on Kai and lean on the Raft.
