Together with Kai publishes writing about loneliness, emotional wellbeing, and how people build real friendships. This page explains how we decide what to publish, how we check it, and what to do when we get something wrong.

What we publish

Everything on this site is written for us, by us. We do not republish other people's articles, spin existing posts into new ones, or fill pages to attract search traffic.

We write about

  • Loneliness and social isolation, and what actually helps
  • Emotional wellbeing in everyday life
  • How our product works and what we are learning from building it
  • Research on human connection, explained in ordinary words

We do not publish medical advice. Nothing here diagnoses a condition or replaces care from a doctor or therapist. If an article touches on mental health, we say what the evidence shows and where its limits are.

How we research

  • We use published research, official health sources, and named experts. Where a claim comes from a study, we link to the study, not to a news article about the study.
  • We say when evidence is thin. If researchers disagree, we say that instead of picking the tidier answer.
  • We do not present a single study as a settled fact.
  • Where we use our own product data, we label it clearly as our data, describe how it was measured, and note that we have an interest in the result.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help draft, edit, and tighten our writing. We do not publish anything a person has not read, checked, and taken responsibility for. A named human reviews every article before it goes live. AI does not decide what we publish, and it does not have the last word on any claim about health or safety.

Our review process

Every article goes through these steps before it is published:

  • Brief. We agree what question the piece answers and who it is for.
  • Draft. A named writer produces the piece.
  • Fact check. A second person checks every factual claim, number, and quote against its original source. Broken or missing sources mean the claim comes out.
  • Safety review. Anything touching mental health, crisis, self harm, or vulnerable readers is reviewed against our safety guidelines before it goes out.
  • Sign off. By a Kai staff member.

Articles get a review date on the page. We revisit older pieces every two months and update or retire anything that has gone out of date.

Sensitive topics and reader safety

We write about loneliness, and loneliness sits close to harder things. When we do:

  • We follow safe messaging guidance on suicide and self harm. We do not describe methods, and we do not frame distress as something a product fixes.
  • We include support resources on relevant articles.
  • We never present our product as a substitute for professional help.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it in the open.

  • Tell us: send an email with a link to the article and what is wrong.
  • What happens next: we check it. If you are right, we correct the article and add a dated note at the bottom saying what changed and when.
  • How fast: we aim to respond within 2 working days. Anything that could affect a reader's safety gets fixed the same day.
  • Small stuff: typos and broken links we simply fix, without a note.

We do not quietly delete or rewrite articles to hide a mistake. The correction stays on the page.

Advertising and independence

  • This site carries advertising. Advertisers have no say in what we write, no advance sight of articles, and no influence over our editorial judgement.
  • Anything paid for by someone else is labelled as sponsored at the top, before you read it.
  • We build a product for loneliness, so we have an obvious interest in the subject. We say so on any article that touches our own product or data.
